They say with time, things change. This can not be closer to the truth. I still remember when the gigantic sponsors consisted of major backed brands like Audible, Dollar Shave Club and Loot Crate - But now there are new kids on the block, as often newer, smaller brands are taking over in 2025.
This provides a golden opportunity for us small creators: a radar check for sponsors it would be worth actually approaching.
Why do brands change in popularity
Most brands often follow niches, often aligning themselves to the niche. This also means if a niche loses popularity, the brand often goes under with it. There are many factors affecting the popularity of a niche and brands. It is important for us as creators to identify these trends and act accordingly.
A good reason is shifting consumer habits, examples being health and wellness brands growing in popularity after COVID, and Fintech apps booming with younger generations, like Gen Z.

These companies are currently popular due to the reasons I listed earlier.
- Finance and Tech: Banking apps like Venmo, Monzo and Revolut - Startups investing in creators
- Wellness and Mental Health: Therapy-as-a-service apps like BetterHelp making therapy easier and more accesible for young people
- Food and Lifestyle: Hellofresh is still a strong contender, but is likely to be overtaken by smaller food prep and meal companies.
- Tech and AI Startups: Software as a Service, Productivity tools and AI apps sponsoring creators
- Gaming: Surprisingly crypto and fintech companies like Coinbase often sponsor gaming channels on youtube or elsewhere
What does this mean for us (creators)
Up and coming brands aren't often looking to sponsor big creators, a big pattern is that they are sponsoring mid-tier and small creators as well. If you are a creator in a niche, you have more chances now than before. We are now seeing a pattern that sponsorships aren't based on subscriber count, but also niche and audience. These companies want their ads to convert to sales, and so putting them on a platform where viewers are more likely to be interested is more beneficial than getting the most eyes in front of their products.
They say with time, things change - and right now, we are seeing a new sponsorship wave flowing. If you are a creator, these are the names to keep on your list.
