5 Tips to Get Your First Brand Deal

Aug 14, 2025 · by superadmin

The hunt is perilous at times it seems, and we try to look for a solution to our perils. This is why I am about to give you 5 important tips to secure your very first brand deal!

1. Focus on GOOD CONTENT

I cannot STRESS THIS ENOUGH. Brands will not be attracted to you if you do not have quality content that keeps your viewers interested. I know it can be exciting hunting for sponsor deals, however with time if you focus, the brand deals will come to YOU.

2. Build your content on a Niche

It doesn't matter which, any is fine. As long as you have a consistent niche througt your videos, whether it be tech, finance or lifestyle, a consistent niche is what attracts the right sponsors to your channel. Sponsors are constantly looking for creators and channels who  can advertise their product to their viewers, and focus on looking for channels that follow what they sell. If more sponsors view your channel as a way to get their products across to an interested audience, then they are more likely to come to YOU.

3. Optimize Your Profile for Partnerships

It should be obvious to sponsors that you are looking for partnerships. One way of doing this would be to place a link in your bio where potential sponsors can reach you directly. Make it as easy as possible for the sponsors to reach YOU.

4. Start Small & Local

Remember it is never too early to get a sponsorship. THINK about this: you have a relatively small YouTube channel focusing on garden care with around 10k active viewers on each video that you post. For a gardening company looking to advertise, your 'small' viewership count could potentially translate to 1000s of new customers for them, so just because you are not big enough doesn't mean that you cannot have sponsors looking for YOU.

5. Pitch, Don't Wait

Many initial brand deals partnerships start with YOU reaching out. focus on sending a quick, concise email to their marketing team. And remember: DONT WAIT FOR A RESPONSE. Waiting for a response instead of focusing on content would detrimental and the opposite of what the brand itself wants. By limiting you uploads because you are 'waiting for a response from the marketing department' you limit the chance that you even get the sponsorship. Also: try and garner a relationship with the company. This opens you up to more opportunities and revenue for the both of YOU.

In summary, content is KING. Do not prioritise chasing sponsor deals over making content.
